Upon returning to her isolated community from forced exile for violating clan rules regarding the taking of life, Tamara faces the second and more permanent Roman invasion of Pax Britain to watch the decimation of her beloved Regnenses tribe. Drawing her strength from the love for her land and the grim determination that her Tribe will survive and prosper, Tamara becomes the tribe leader through a courageous display during a battle with the Romans. A battle during which she also first encounters the Roman who she decides will become her husband. Over time she recognizes the value of some roman ways. She learns diplomacy astutely applying it to create an inter-tribal council to combat the roman invasion and provide improved bargaining power for peace with the Romans. Over time Tamara becomes a guiding force for the whole Celtic nation taking her people and the island of Pax Britain into a new way of life: supplementing Celtic values with Roman life ways. As the future unfolds, she and her Roman husband save the Celtic Nation from a slow and painful extinction and strengthen the bond between the people and their land that will live through generations and overcome time barriers.
