Lucy Higgins thinks she’s a normal teenager living on the Oregon Coast. She thinks her realistic dreams about a boy named Benjamin are only dreams. And she thinks that all the things Benjamin has been saying in those dreams are products of her over-active imagination. She thinks all this because it’s too much to hope that it’s all real. If it were real, she’d have to deal with a near-magical power called the Immortal Light that saves lives; she have to learn how to wield a sword in reality; and she's finally know what it would mean to have her very first boyfriend ever. What she doesn't think at all is that this new world inside her dreams might try to find her in reality and kill her.
